‘Bit’ is an ultra-premium limited-edition physical art book that will showcase 128 unique art pieces exploring Bitcoin’s rich history. Smashtoshi is bringing together the world’s most prominent and exciting digital artists to create the ultimate Bitcoin collector's item.

What is this project?

Smashtoshi is bringing together 128 of the world’s best digital artists to celebrate and articulate the history of Bitcoin’s meteoric rise through original artworks. Two years in the making, we aspire to spark interest, provoke debate and shine a light on the fascinating story behind the most exciting innovation of our era.

Charting the pivotal moments in Bitcoin history from the Cypherpunks manifesto to its post-Financial Crisis genesis in 2009 and beyond, we are creating the definitive and iconic origin story of Bitcoin that will go down in history

Physical

‘Bit’ is an ultra-premium limited-edition physical art book showcasing the 128 unique art pieces. An app accompanies the book to visually augment the art and display the story behind each piece. Buyers can customise their book and box at the time of purchase to make it unique to them (e.g. choosing their favourite leather type and colour).

Who is Smashtoshi?

Smashtoshi is a collective formed with a shared love of art and Bitcoin. At completion, over 200 creatives will have come together with the goal of teaching as many people as possible about Bitcoin’s fascinating history. A truly remarkable level of collaboration that is a testament to Bitcoin’s culture.

How many books will be available?
